Silent Night

The original sound design for Silent Night was performed by C. Andrew Mayer.

My task was to assemble a sound system that covered Andrew’s stated needs and using his existing Qlab workspace, recreate the design for the Fort Worth Opera. Honestly, Silent Night is one of the most complicated opera sound designs I’ve been a part of due to the sheer number of speakers involved.  There is a scene that requires surround sound on ever level of the venue and also extensive low frequency support. Fortunately Bass Performance Hall is well equipped with a Meyer sound system and I happened to have the gear that was needed to augment the house rig.
