Kurt Howard

I’m mildly certain that I met Kurt Howard during the pre production stages of Fort Worth Opera’s world premier of Frau Margot in 2007 but I could be wrong.  Kurt asked me if I was interested in recording the opera and performing a live mix for FM broadcast. I’d been recording audio since my youth and had even recently made an archival recording of symphonic piece user for a new ballet but I’d never been tasked with recording an opera bound for CD release to the general public, much less providing a live stereo mix to FM radio WRR101.1 for a Sunday broadcast of the final performance. Kurt and I worked together during each Fort Worth Opera festival until he accepted a management position at Opera America in New York City. More recently we were able to work together for the Opera America conference where I was invited to participate on a panel discussing opera sound which was the inspiration of creating opearsound.org
