When I started doing live theater sound in 1990, there was little competition to contend with. Almost 30 years later, the opposite is true. You can easily purchase new gear from a retailer than cannot operate in your location optimally. When you think about wireless (RF) mics, think about whether or not you need can make a wired option work. If not, fine but don’t take wireless mics for granted. Using them properly any more is a bit like brain surgery. You either have the skills and gear it takes to do it well or you don’t do it at all.
