Hydrogen Jukebox

Fort Worth Opera’s production of Hydrogen Jukebox was obviously going to be a tough piece at the sound level from day one. The production circumstances demanded using body mics on the entire cast and the show had to be mixed in realtime. The orchestration was based around (2) synthesizers which were based on Mainstage 2 systems we built from scratch. Only due to a lot of pre production planning did the production go smoothly. Because Hydrogen Jukebox was being rehearsed and presented in a small venue across town at the same time the Fort Worth Opera festival was going on, I had to arrange to have a mix engineer cover the production when I wasn’t around. David Lanza was my first choice.
