operasound.org was established on January 15, 2018 while sitting in the Executive Hotel Le Soleil in downtown Manhattan during an Opera America “New Works” forum / conference and specifically for launch during a session called “Electronics, Amplification and New Opera”.
“This session will focus on how to structure a production process that features amplification, including the need to hire a designer (not just an engineer), scheduling rehearsal time, budgeting correctly, and communicating not only with the venue, but with audiences who insist that opera singing must always be unamplified.”
